Walter Benjamin's Microscopic Methods—Uwe Steiner in Berlin

On July 22 Uwe Steiner, chair of the department, discussed the research methods and writing style of German-Jewish philosopher and cultural historian Walter Benjamin. The public event, which took place at the Literaturforum im Brecht-Haus in Berlin, focused in particular on Benjamin's obsession with the smallest of details. Other participants in the discussion that joined Professor Steiner were the film maker David Wittenberg, who is based in Frankfurt am Main, and Ursula Marx, the director of the Walter Benjamin Archive.
